What and how?

We design and produce practical collaboration models that enable different stakeholders to act and interact with urgent topics and challenges of the urban realm.

Working both on commission and through our self-initiated projects we build platforms for a more shared discussion on the future of our cities.

Nordic CityMaking Week is an online + on site event and catalyst for more interaction and collaboration in the Nordic and Baltic region with a focus on the future generation of CityMakers.

Urban conference People-Driven City creates meeting places for cross over experiences with participants from different cities around the world.

Lähiöfest – festival of neighbourhoods Initiated and produced by UP since 2015, is the largest Placemaking event and campaign in Finland, with a focus on neighbourhoods.

Kaupunkioppi – City Learning is an education programme which enables schools to learn about the city and the city to learn from youngsters and schools.

We work across diverse urban environments – from city centres to small suburbs.

Our partners and clients represent all sectors of the society from municipalities and universities to corporations and NGOs.

In our projects we invite active involvement of local communities as well as groups of urban activists and changemakers.
